Today's Reading John 5.25-47

King James Version with Web Encyclopedia links: John 5

John 5 with Commentaries, verse by verse
John 5.25-47
In verse 25-29, the passage further elaborates that Jesus has the authority to give life or death (Judgement). This is so different from what we hear in churches today. All we hear is that God is a God oLove but very rarely do we hear about the judgement of God. In his first coming he came as a Lamb to save us from our sins, in the second coming, He is coming back as a Lion to judge us. This passage also speak of the two resurrections, one for the living (the Christians) and one for the dead (the wicked).

John the Apostle gave his testimony of Jesus (v. 31-45): the things that Jesus has to say about Himself, because the testimony is validated by God the Father. He came with the authority that God the Father has given Him. The Scriptures also testify about Jesus.
