Today's Reading John 1.29-51

King James Version with Web Encyclopedia links: John 1

John 1 with Commentaries, verse by verse
John introduced Jesus as the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. He said he recognized Jesus by the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove coming down on Him and remaining with Him.
Jesus first disciples were disciples of John the Baptist who decided to follow Him (John 1.40-42; Matthew 4.18-22; Mark 1.16-20; Luke 5.2-11)
It is interesting that it was Andrew who brought Peter to the Lord. Andrew was loving in the shadow of extroverted Peter. We thank God that we have many Andrews of the world who stay in the background and do the Lord's work faithfully.
